Damaged hair concerns ? Well blow drying, wind, harsh hair shampoo and chemical services all take their toll on the condition of your hair or hairstyle.
Some hairsprays, styling products and hair conditioners can also damage the hair.
If you have one or more of these characteristics of damaged hair, see your hair stylist
(1) Rough texture- feels un-natural ex. hay
(2) Over-porous- the hair easily absorbs moisture
(3) Brittle and dry to the touch- lots of fly-aways and breaking off
(4) Susceptible to hair breakage- hair is literally breaking in pieces
(5) No elasticity- like a rubberband, it's been stretched so much it can't stretch any longer
(6) Becomes spongy and matted when it’s wet- cotton candy feel
(7) Color fades or takes too quickly (resulting in turning the color black)
Any of these hair conditions will create problems during certain services: color, lightening, hair perms and hair relaxers
- Damaged hair should receive reconditioning treatments (strong protein enriched conditioning treatment) prior to and after any chemical treatment
When you are dealing with damaged hair....
(1) Use deep penetrating conditioners that can deposit protein, oils and moisture rich ingredients
(2) Postpone chemical treatments until the hair has been reconditioned
(3) Get an additional conditioning treatment (at the salon or at home.. it won’t matter)
(4) Ask your hair stylist what the best hair products are for you
