hair problem

by Patty
(Birmingham, AL USA)

When my hair is wet occasionally it pulls and breaks from mere combing. It breaks in small sections as if it were cropped off. Sometimes I even find strands with the folical attached. It only grows to a certain length and stops. I desire
for it to be longer. I do my own hair and do not know all of the latest techniques, but it seems to grow faster when I do my own hair. Please advise.

Could you do an article on these issues. Thanks!

Is your hair chemically treated in any way ? Usually if someone's hair is overly colored or relaxed it will break when you comb your hair whether it's wet or dry. When combing your hair make sure you're using a wide tooth comb and not a brush. A brush will break your hair even more. A comb will detangle your hair. Something that you can do is use a daily conditioner along with a weekly deep treatment such as Bumble & Bumble's Deep Treatment. This will add protein that the hair is lacking. We will also add a more detailed article in the near future.
