REFERRALS, REFERRALS Get a recommendation from a friend.
If you like someone’s hair, ask them who did it… you’ll be giving her an amazing compliment.
Find a salon that “fits” you.
(1) Visit a salon or drive by to see if it looks like a place that you’d like to go to have your hair done
(2) I recommend going in (pretend to look @ products and see what kind of feel that you get for the place)
(3) Look at the stylists
(4) A good stylist should look the part. (if her hair doesn’t look good and her makeup isn’t done I don’t recommend seeing that stylist) if she doesn’t take care of herself she is not going to take care of you.
------- Book a consultation.-------
(1) For most stylists a consult is free
(2) This is a good time to learn a lot about this person
(3) How long have they been doing hair and what have they done to continue their education ?
(4) Appearance is crucial (you can tell a lot about a person by the way they present themselves in the workplace).
(5) Did they ask enough questions to be able to assess your best possibilities ?
(6) On this visit the stylist should learn your hairstyling history, past chemical treatments, reactions and definitely talk about your face shape
(7) It’s important that they learn your lifestyle and how much time you have and are willing to spend on styling your hair
