******* Prom, homecoming, wedding or formal event… You WILL need an up-do at some point in your life ******

(1) Hair updos can happen whether you have short, medium or long hair.. it doesn't matter

(2) Always make sure the stylist you’re going to enjoys doing up-dos as many stylists don’t like to do them. As a word of caution if they don’t like to do them chances are it is not going to look good

(3) Do your homework.. if you’re a very loyal client and your stylist doesn’t like them, ask them to refer someone who does.. that way both of you will feel good about the decision

(4) Before going into the salon for a new hairstyle LOOK at photos

(5) Finding the perfect up-do takes some work

(6) Look in hairstyle magazines, sites online or even photos of friends up-dos

(7) When you’re looking for the right up-do you may not find one picture that’s perfect.. it may be twenty pictures with each one having something different that you like and don’t like

(8) Yes, find photos that you like and ones you don’t like and this way you and your stylist will be on the same page

PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS

Break down the pictures with a highlighter or pen

In one photo you may like the part and absolutely nothing else about it

In another photo you may like the back design and shape of the curls

By breaking down the photos it will help you to communicate your feelings to your stylist during your appointment and in return you’ll get the best possible up-do specifically designed to suit you.

RECOMMENDATION: Don’t go to your stylist not knowing what you want (Unless you “always” place 100% faith in your stylist)
