long hair and maturity

by Alissa

I am a 5'5" 20 year-old woman. My hair goes down to about my waist and I've been told by my parents that it is childish to have my hair that long. They want me to cut it to my shoulders but I feel as though that would make me look even more childish. I was wondering if having my hair that long really IS childish?

It's really a matter of opinion. In most cases long hair is a security blanket. Women are attached to it and don't want to let it go. In my opinion it depends on the package... If you still dress and act childish then yes it would be considered childish. If you act and dress more mature then depending on how you're styling it, it should appear more mature as well.

Wearing it back in a ponytail isn't mature. Curling your long hair, adding waves or even straightening it would give it the more mature look. I hope that helps a little.
Thanks
