Mom comes in with two year old. Been at salon many times, no problems.
I have even cut kids hair a few times, no problems.
Mom " seemed normal" even friendly.
requests" same haircut but just shorter" on kid
I spray a little water on his head with bottle, he is fine, she tells me to "stop he doesn't like it". I say hes fine, but stop at her request.
have to cut his hair dry. ok
do the cut, all done, he wiggles like a normal two year old a bit tricky but done, looks good.
mom says 'Its great looks perfect just like I asked for!" ( no kidding!)
I get the cape almost off and she comes over to the back of his head and starts to feel the length on both sides, asks me" is this"???"do you think this is"????..moves to his ears, the hair is cut around his ears but not too short as requested, "could you shorten this up around his ears"...sure
I shorted it up around his ears like she asked, she is now freaking out, telling me I am "scaring her" and she is nervous about me cutting his hair. That she didn't ask for it shorter, I looked at her in disbelief and said "you just got up and grabbed his hair and told me to shorten it up" I am doing what you requested. I tell her it will be ok, seriously.
I explain that since she wanted it shorter around the ears I am blending the hairline to the rest so he wont have a mullet look, she is panicking, telling me she's never been so nervous before about a haircut in a salon...( no kidding) she is almost ready to cry and stomp her feet.
shes freaking out and the kids haircut looks fine, I swear its fine...better than fine, it looks good.
I also mentioned that when using clippers, timmers, scissors on a wiggly kid its difficult to get it perfect ,....she said" I must not know anything about kids if I think he was wiggly"..hes two, he wiggles, I have two kids myself, THEY wiggle !!
whatever,,,,she needs tranquilizers and really worked my nerves.
Next time she comes in, I am outta there.
I told her if she wanted it any shorter she could come back within a week and we could do it free of charge, she practically yelled at me" THANK GOD it will grow back !"
Oh yeah....lots of these types out there, harassing us every day ! Stay strong stylist, waiters, service people, stay strong !
