Permed hair on growth mw

by Michelle White
(Lakeview,Michigan)

I got a perm about a year ago. It looks like it's grown out. Is this what it does or what? It is now about 3 inches down from the top of my head. Does this mean that my hair has grown that much? I'd like to know if my hair grew that much in a year?

The average persons hair grows about 1/2 inch a month. That's 6 inches a year. Some grow slower, some faster. Perms are permanent; any hair that grows in will not be permed, but the previous hair will always have the remains from the perm until they are cut out. Even if the previously permed hair doesn't look curly anymore, the hair still has a perm on it.
