There are definitely simple things to be aware of when you're going to the salon to visit your stylist, get your hairstyled or cut, or to just go for a day of beauty.

(1) Turn off the cell phones, blackberry’s and laptops. As far as cell phones are concerned make sure that if you can’t turn them off just set them to vibrate

(2) Be on time (important rule of salon etiquette)

(3) As a courtesy do not cancel within 24 hours of your appointment if you can help it (last minute cancellations are viewed upon negatively)

(4) Please don’t arrive for your appointment sick, coughing, under the weather etc

(5) Your appointment should be enjoyable.. Working on a laptop or reading a magazine can leave a haircut unbalanced because of how your body is positioned while you’re reading or working so please avoid that

(6) If you want to just sit and not talk that’s not a problem and your stylist will not be offended

(7) Leave children at home or with a sitter if possible

(8) If you don’t like your hair before you leave the salon tell your stylist so you can get it fixed. There is no reason to leave for 4-8 weeks wearing a style that you don’t like at all

(9) Before booking an appointment check with the salon about the rules and policies in regards to bringing your children with you

(10) This one's easy.. just relax while you're there and love being pampered
