Styling Tools

 

When it comes to styling your hair, you need the right hair styling tools.

(1) Blow Dryer – used to dry wet hair. When a brush is included it becomes a useful tool.. Preferred Brands – Tourmaline T3, Chi Nano  

(2) Curling Iron – used to manipulate the hair into a curl shape. They come in a variety of sizes, styles and weights. Preferred Brands – GHD, Chi

(3) Straightening Iron – heat activated iron used to straighten the hair. Preferred BrandsGHD, Chi  

(4) Designer Irons – manipulate the hair in different shapes, depending on the design of the iron. Can be found in 3 barrel, spiral etc.Preferred Brands – GHD, Chi, hot tools

 

Recommended Professional Hair Styling Iron

 

Hair Maintenance  

(1) When you’re using the irons and blow dryers you still need to maintain them

(2) Keep them clean and free from rust and carbon

(3) To remove the dirt and grease wash the irons in a soap solution with a few drops of ammonia (you can use alcohol as it will do the same thing)

(4) Fine sandpaper or steel wool with a little oil, helps to remove rust and carbon and polishes the irons

(5) To get more movement out of the iron, oil the joints 

 

Buying Hair Styling Tools

(1) When you’re looking for an iron, get one with a temperature gauge

(2) You want to be able to adjust the heat depending on the condition of your hair

(3) Do your research

(4) Stick with ceramic or ionic

(5) Usually if the iron is gold it may be metal (unless it says otherwise)

(6) DO NOT BUY METAL !!!! FYI: YOU’LL DEFINITELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FORWhen in doubt ask your stylist………… 

 

Hair Tool Safety

(1) Always read the instructions !

(2) Do not overheat the irons

(3) Do not touch “skin” with the iron

(4) Only use hard rubber or nonflammable combs

(5) Do not allow children to use unattended
